April was another jam-packed month for us here at Fraunces Tavern. We started off the month on the right foot with the Concern Spring Run in Central Park on April 8th. Our running team walked and ran the 4 mile course to raise funds for Concern’s work fighting extreme poverty in 26 of the world’s poorest countries. Thanks to everyone who supported our team in their fundraising efforts!

April was another great month for craft beer tastings. We started off with von Trapp’s brewery night as they introduced their Munich style Dunkel lager brewed out of Vermont. Then we had a visit from Bell’s as they launched their baseball seasonal, Oberon Ale. Mets V. Phillies was screened during the launch for a great night of beer and baseball, the perfect combination! Our April lager of the month was Left Hand Brewing’s Polestar Pilsner. Left Hand paid us a visit to promote Polestar Pilsner, a crisp and refreshing German style Pilsner brewed with traditional methods and ingredients in Colorado. We also had a whiskey tasting this month  in the Dingle Whiskey Bar with Red Breast. The tasting featured Redbreast 12, Redbreast Lustau, Green Spot and Powers Johns Lane.

Mother’s Day at Fraunces Tavern was marked with some specially selected dishes and Live Music in the Porterhouse Bar with Sean McNally and his band. May also has a great selection of tastings with Stone Brewing Co joining us on May 25th to promote their Wussie Pilsner, our May Lager of the Month. Flagship Brewery of Staten Island join us on May 23rd to promote their 2017 Pastime Summer Ale and will be joining us in June to officially launch the new Samuel Fraunces Ale! Details of the official launch of this new brew will be announced soon on the tavern’s social media, so keep an eye out for this not to be missed event! In the meantime, stop by the tavern and have a taste of the new Samuel Fraunces Ale for yourself.
