The real deal. A fulsome full length bitter-sweet stout. The XXXX denotes the strength of alcohol and depth of flavour. Michael Collins favourite tipple by Wrasslers of Clonakilty. A stout like your grandfather used to drink. Late kettle hops produce a forthright aroma, flaked barley lending that rich body, ultimately yielding to the generous roasted grain built solidity of flavour.
Rapidly becoming our best selling stout. A superbly balanced brew, smooth and rounded without being bland. More sweetness derived from fresh oysters shucked into the conditioning tank, what a way to go!
But of course not suitable for vegetarians.
Look for the Gold Medal on the wall in Temple Bar. Technically a Porter, (a lighter stout) a smooth edged velvety mouthful just a hint of bitterness with no sourness – deeply aromatic but not overpowering. Immortal.
“When no rashers grease your pan…”
A jewel in our crown. Officially “The Best Stout in the World”.
Our secret weapon. A fulsome, winsome strong ale. A deep copper tinged brew for the true aficionado, longer fermentation and thrice hopping bring about a complex soft bitterness allied to a malt induced sweetness with the characteristic oily Fuggles hop perfume. Not just for students. Once “stuffed” savour the flavour of a glass as a digestif… True “Aroma-therapy”.
A superior traditional red ale. Break through a balmy heavy cream head to a fruit filled characterful mouth, poised over caramel notes derived from deep roasted malts and not burnt sugar-like artificial additives.
